Happy New Year!
It’s been seriously quiet around here. I know. I love being a family photographer for all of my families in Beaumont and the surrounding areas, but that also means that I had an EXTREMELY busy “busy season”! Seriously, I feel like I barely came up for air. In the middle of December, after my last session was delivered, my husband and I loaded up our son and took off to Missouri for a few days (that trip is going to get its own little blog post, eventually haha). When we got back, I had three more sessions and then it was time for Christmas and New Years, and I happily and gladly took a week or so off without even glancing towards my computer. You all deserve a photographer who is well-rested and content with her art and not stressed by pressure and deadlines. I love my craft, but it was so nice to have that time away without commitments, and it made me super excited to jump back into business!
As I was sorting through sessions to blog, I came across this one from early December and it just made me so happy. I have no idea how these haven’t been blogged yet, since I think its easily one of my favorite sessions to date. I’ve known Lacie for years but this is the first time we actually got to meet face to face! We met in a facebook group for Moms back when I was pregnant with E in late 2011-early 2012. They live about 4 hours away now, but when she messaged me saying that they would be in town for an extended period and wanted to book a session, I was over the moon!
We hit a few road bumps with the weather. October and November 2015 were not nice to photographers, y’all. Tropical Storm Patricia, I’m looking at you. My yard has been a lake with standing water for months, absolutely no embellishment. We finally got to get together the day after sweet little Miss A turned 4! Lacie brought her sister along and did some photos for their parents with a quilt that their great-grandmother made. How freaking amazing is that? Those are the photos you cherish. The kiddos were a little shy and didn’t want a whole lot to do with me at first, but …. well, more on that later 😉
These were all taken out on our land! You guys have heard me talk about our big move out to 4 acres – here it is! My husband was working late, so I brought E outside with me and let him play in a couple of piles of sand we had had delivered. Lacie really wanted solo shots of the kids, but they weren’t having it …. until they decided to join E in the sand! And then we got gold!
I would love to be your personal family historian. Send me a message and let’s chat about doing a personalized session with your family!
