Because I love to make a connection, and capture the connection first and foremost, large and grand weddings aren’t really my style, I don’t really consider myself a Beaumont Wedding photographer in the traditional sense. I’m very picky with the weddings that I will accept, so I’m sure you’re all wondering what it is you’re even looking at right now. No, this isn’t a guest blog by some other Beaumont wedding photographer! It’s me! I shoot weddings!
When Sarah contacted me, I wasn’t sure how it would pan out, but I sure didn’t expect her to want to hire me sight unseen! I was floored. We set a date for a consultation and after speaking with Sarah and Michael for just a few minutes, I knew this was one wedding I wouldn’t want to miss. Both of them are so laid back and SO in love and SO excited about their wedding day. It was pretty contagious!
Sarah was a DIY bride and planned a BEAUTIFUL wedding at Rock’n Dollar Ranch in Lumberton. It was my first time at this particular venue, but I was just blown away by how how gorgeous it is. It’s rustic and quaint and everything a converted barn should be.
So remember Tropical Storm Patricia? Formerly Category 5 Hurricane Patricia, the second most intense tropical cyclone ever recorded? Yeah. By the time she hit us, she had been downgraded to a Tropical Storm, but she was nice enough to sit on top of us for several days and dump several inches of rain, beginning with Michael and Sarah’s wedding day. They had been planning an outdoor wedding, and I was totally worried, I won’t lie. But I arrived at the venue and both Michael and Sarah were cool as cucumbers. Their entire focus was not on the wedding, but on their marriage, and both of them were fairly buzzing with excitement. It was adorable. And hey, everyone says rain on your wedding day is good luck, so I guess that means these two are super blessed!
Michael and Sarah’s wedding was also the first opportunity I’ve ever had to photograph a First Look and oh gosh…. it was amazing. Michael and Sarah wrote each other letters to read before the ceremony (and I hear Michael jumped the gun and didn’t wait for a photographer to read his – I would have been totally anxious and ripped into it too). But while we were waiting for Michael to show up for their First Look, Sarah took a peek at hers….
Hope you’ve got your Kleenex ready, because this First Look was emotional and beautiful and just all around perfect.
