I teased a little bit in my last Project 365 post about a deeper look into what we’ve been up to. Which is A LOT. We’ve been doing a lot. The past several years have been all about renovating our house, selling our house, moving, living with my mother-in-law temporarily, moving into our temporary home, and preparing to build our house on our 4 acres that we love so much. All of that on top of being parents, working full-time jobs, being spouses, and trying to make time for our friends and some kind of social life. Whew! Whenever we get the chance, even the smallest window of opportunity, we like to seize the moment and make it something fun. So when my clients and I were planning Taylor’s 6 month session at Galveston Beach, I intentionally scheduled their session on a date when I knew that I had some extra time and decided to make a beach day of it!
My hubby had to work, so my mom was my trusty ride along, which makes sense since I inherited my love of the beach from her, and E inherited his love of the beach from me. Although E’s love of the beach is unlike anything I’ve ever seen! All kids love the beach. It’s big and magic and they’re all 100% convinced they’ll see dolphins and mermaids. Thanks to E’s favorite show Octonauts and few well-loved BBC nature documentaries. he knows how to identify so many different species of sea and ocean life. In fact, he often corrects me when I get it wrong, ha! We’re so close to the beach and any opportunity that life hands me to make his face light up with wonder, I’ll grab it with both hands.
These are also some of the last photos I have of him before his big boy haircut. *Sad trombone*
He also loves to “ride the boat” so every time I have a Galveston beach session, even if its in Crystal Beach, we plan enough time to make sure that we can ride the Galveston Ferry to the island and back before coming home. Even when it means we’ve been in the car for HOURS and he just can’t take it anymore.
